
• 2008 South Dakota Statewide Entrepreneurship Education Academy
The Statewide Entrepreneur Education Academy or SEED Academy is a hands-on learning experience for students interested in entrepreneurship. The academy helps students gain an understanding of entrepreneurship in Sotuh Dakota, and allows them to devlop skills as well as learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur.
This years academy will feature three different locations: Black Hills, Mitchell, and Brookings. Each location features different career clusters which allows students to visit businesses in a career area that interests them. The academy is funded by Senate Bill 168 through the South Dakota Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education that the Lake Area Multi-District in Watertown received.
Students will be staying over each night and traveling to other communities during the day to tour businesses and visit with entrepreneurs. The academies are free to students, and all meals are provided. The academy starts at 7pm the first night and will be done at 4pm on the last day.
