The Cutting Edge – Presentation about Swords by Dr. Keller and His Student

"The Cutting Edge" Science Café was held in Rapid City, SD! It took place on Monday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. (MT) at the Alternative Fuel Coffee House, located in downtown Rapid City. The guest scientist for "The Cutting Edge" Science Café was Jon Kellar, Ph.D., from the SD School of Mines & Technology. Dr Kellar and his students talked about a project they are working on to make a Samurai sword using the minerals extracted from the waters pumped out of the former Homestake Gold Mine. Dr Kellar was inspired to try this project when he watched the NOVA program "Secrets of the Samurai Sword".
