Internship Highlights

30 Under 30

Megan Davis- South Dakota State University

In support of the 2010 Initiative to stimulate economic growth in South Dakota, 30 under 30 is a compilation of feature articles about young entrepreneurs from all over the country who love working and living in South Dakota. The purpose of 30 under 30 is to help conquer the widely-held misconception among young South Dakotans that one must leave the state in order to find outstanding opportunities in research, development, technology and business.

The goal of this project is to increase awareness of South Dakota’s opportunities in research (e.g.: nanoscience and nanoengineering, developing new medicines and vaccines, alternative energy, physics, geology, wildlife, etc…), technology (e. g.: designing and developing more efficient programs and machines), and business (e.g.: opportunities and programs that encourage and help entrepreneurs to develop businesses). By promoting new and existing opportunities in the state, 30 under 30 hopes young South Dakotans will discover the exciting opportunities that are just beginning and those that have, until now, been overlooked.
