One of SD EPSCoR’s primary objectives is to promote the research being done in South Dakota. SD EPSCoR uses many differenct tactics to profile the participants and programs supported by SD EPSCoR. One way of creating public awareness is through press releases. Sixteen press releases were written for the 2009 SD EPSCoR summer undergraduate internship awardees. The press releases explain what kind of research the interns will be doing, what they hope to accomplish and what their long term goals are.

The goal of this project is to provide students with public recognition for their efforts and increase SD EPSCoR’s visibility to establish its presence in the state. Communications and media relations efforts like these highlight SD EPSCoR’s support of of education at all levels.
