Agroecology is the primary focus of interest for Dr. Rickerl's research program.
Projects include sustainable ecosystems: wetlands in agricultural landscapes;
bison as part of Lakota culture; and indigenous food systems of the Aymarans
in Bolivia. A multi-disciplinary approach is used to integrate economic, social,
and environmental aspects.
